Position Overview:


The Financial Services Analyst will be accountable for the fiscal and operational management of a varied portfolio of departmental funds, encompassing state, discretionary, gift/endowment, sales & service, and grant funds, totaling approximately $21 million.

Deliver a comprehensive array of financial services, which include transaction processing, budgeting, financial reporting, deposits, and recharge services for the Chair, Chief Administrative Officer, and around 55 ladder faculty members, along with active emeriti.

Supervise departmental colloquia (such as the Atlantic History Series, History of Science Colloquium, European Colloquium, and History of Gender and Sexuality) and other departmental events or conferences as required.

Required Qualifications:
Experience in processing financial transactions such as TOF, MTF, and NPEAR. (Preferred)

Familiarity with and experience in UCLA financial and payroll systems, including OASIS, EDB, BruinBuy Plus, Travel Express, and FSR. (Preferred)

Proven knowledge of and proficiency in UCLA Accounting policies and procedures. (Preferred)

Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis and both long-term and short-term budget planning. (Preferred)

Understanding of UCLA gift processing and related procedures. (Preferred)

Ability to read, analyze, and reconcile monthly financial ledgers. (Required)

Proficiency in utilizing Windows applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. (Required)

Strong written communication skills to prepare clear, logical, and grammatically correct analytical reports, correspondence, policies, and procedures. (Required)

Effective oral communication skills to articulate simple and/or complex policies and procedures to faculty, staff, students, and administrative personnel. (Required)


Ability to negotiate, exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to develop departmental policies and procedures and/or collaboratively reach decisions, conclusions, or solutions.

Capacity to work independently to set priorities and achieve departmental goals and objectives. (Required)


Ability to operate efficiently and effectively amidst diverse responsibilities and shifting priorities, while meeting competing deadlines.

Skill in performing tasks efficiently despite frequent interruptions and/or distractions. (Required)

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training (Required)
