Job Summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled Medication Care Specialist to join our team. As a Medication Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and services to our residents by administering medication and treatments in a safe and organized manner.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medication and treatments to residents in a safe and organized manner.
  • Review and document medication administration records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Resident Care Director and Wellness Nurse to ensure medication updates and changes are implemented promptly.
  • Ensure that medications are passed according to schedule and document any refusals or missed doses.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information, including medication records.
  • Report any resident concerns or issues related to medication administration to the Resident Care Director or Wellness Nurse.
  • Restock medication carts and maintain a clean and organized medication room.
  • Assist in checking medication regardless of packaging system.
  • Assess residents to determine need for as-needed medication and document and report to supervisor.
  • Count narcotics with another Medication Care Specialist or Lead Care Manager each shift.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certifications in CPR and First Aid required.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
  • Ability to make choices and decisions in the best interest of residents.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in difficult situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
