Chart Industries is seeking a skilled Fitter (Day Shift) - Assembly and Fabrication Specialist to join our team in New Iberia, LA. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of shop standards and improvements, providing instruction on fitting techniques, and working independently to raise the level of quality in fitting and solving problems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing shop standards and improvements
  • Provides instruction on fitting techniques, proper tools, and proper procedures
  • Works independently in all areas of the shop with fitters and welders to raise the level of quality in fitting and solving problems
  • Identifies opportunities for technology improvements and makes training recommendations to supervisors
  • Provides follow-up reports to production supervision on observed deficiencies in fitting
  • Be able to identify fit-up issues rapidly and address them quickly
  • Promotes safety, honesty, and integrity on the job
  • Required to work at elevated heights up to 75ft
  • Add'l duties and responsibilities may be assigned


Requirements:

  • High school and/or technical program
  • Three years' experience in a related field
  • Blueprint reading required
  • Knowledge of shop math preferred
  • Education may be substituted by extended experience
