Key Responsibilities- Use cutting torches to cut metal and align beams, grating, stairways, and pipes.
- Operate come-a-longs to assist in aligning materials and fitting components.
- Move materials in the yard using forklifts.
- Grind and smooth metal to achieve a better fit.
- Use squares, levels, torches, and center punches to assist in fitting.
- Tack and fit material using grinders and torches overhead.
- Tighten stud bolts on valves and flanges using hammer wrenches and sledgehammers.
- Bolt ladder cages to structures.
- Assist riggers in hanging decks.
- Fit valves and pipes together in pipe racks.
- Load valves in baskets to be placed on top of decks.
- Cut metal to properly align beams, grating, stairways, and pipes.
- Fitting flanges and valves together when constructing pipe racks.
- Align beams, grating, stairways, and pipes to be tacked and welded to complete the job.
- Two years of experience in fitting.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Must be able to pass background checks to company policy.
