Job Summary:

MedMark Treatment Centers is seeking a highly organized and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and collecting personal information. You will also assist practitioners with treatment and collect lab samples.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule intake appointments and verify patient information
  • Check in patients, escort them to and from the waiting room, and interview them to gather vital signs and medical history
  • Assist Medical Director/Program Physician/Nurse Practitioner with patient intakes and as needed
  • Collect blood and non-blood specimens for laboratory testing
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and disinfect equipment and supplies
  • Act as a receptionist, perform secretarial duties, and maintain patient records
  • Triage and manage phone calls, messages, and lab results
  • File lab results and distribute them to counselors
  • Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum age requirement of 18
  • Medical Assistant certification or registration
  • Phlebotomy skills and CPR/BCLS certification
  • Familiarity with State Regulations, DEA regulations, and TJC and/or CARF Accreditation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and patient management software
  • Ability to establish a positive rapport with patients and demonstrate a non-judgmental attitude toward the Substance Use Disorder population
  • 1-2 years of prior healthcare experience in a similar field and environment
