Job Summary:

The Dietitian Specialist 2 is a key member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing expert nutrition care to patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. This role requires a high level of proficiency in completing nutritional assessments and reassessments, as well as implementing nutrition interventions and coordinating patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized nutrition plans for patients
  • Conduct nutritional assessments and reassessments to identify patient needs and develop effective care plans
  • Provide specialized nutrition education to patients and their families, promoting healthy eating habits and disease management
  • Work closely with dietitians, dietetic technicians, and diet aides to improve performance standards and patient outcomes
  • Participate in educating dietetic and medical students, as well as serving as a consultant for physicians
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the healthcare team and promote patient care
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field
  • Two years of clinical nutrition experience, with a preference for experience in pediatrics
  • Thorough knowledge of clinical nutrition in the area of specialty
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment, including calculators, computers, and telephones
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to speak Spanish desirable
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, make judgments, and follow through on plans
  • Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills, with attention to detail and organization
Licensures and Certifications:
  • Certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD/RDN) required
  • CCS Paneling required within one year of hire date
