Job Title: Pool Safety Specialist

St. Paul's School is seeking a part-time Pool Safety Specialist to provide lifeguard coverage for community and perform essential duties as a certified Red Cross Lifeguard. The ideal candidate will be able to attend in-service training as scheduled throughout the school year and supervise and ensure safety around the pool.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide lifeguard coverage for community
  • Perform essential duties as a certified Red Cross Lifeguard
  • Attend in-service training as scheduled throughout the school year
  • Supervise and ensure safety around the pool

Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential physical and academic duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Language Skills:
Good oral and written communication skills are required. The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form is also necessary. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current Red Cross lifeguard certification and CPR for Professional Rescuer/First Aid certification are required. The ability to pass the Red Cross Pretest for Lifeguard Certification is also necessary. Must be a strong swimmer.

The following shifts are available:
Wednesday and Friday 6:00am - 7:30am, Sundays 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Shifts may be available Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 5:30pm. All shifts are for the school year, ending in June of 2025 and resuming at the end of August 2025.
