Job Overview:
As a Licensed Class A CDL Operator with Crane Certification at National Trench Safety, your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently transport trench-related shoring equipment to and from various job sites. This role necessitates the operation of a truck equipped with a crane, while strictly adhering to safety protocols established by regulatory bodies and the company. This position is classified as safety-sensitive, requiring compliance with the company's drug and alcohol policy and all relevant safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate company vehicles in a professional manner.
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations concerning vehicle operation, including:
    • Conducting vehicle inspections at the start and end of each shift and reporting any issues.
    • Maintaining accurate electronic driver logs.
    • Keeping current driver and crane certifications as mandated.
    • Participating in pre-employment, routine, and random drug and alcohol testing.
    • Securing loads in compliance with DOT and company policies.
    • Reporting all incidents involving the driver or equipment to management.
  • Deliver and retrieve shoring and plates from job sites, managing multiple loads daily.
  • Occasionally load and unload equipment at customer locations.
  • Assist in assembling and disassembling shoring systems on-site as needed.
  • Ensure all delivery documentation is accurately maintained and submitted.
  • Utilize driving skills to navigate various terrains and traffic conditions safely.
  • Maintain open communication with branch management regarding delivery schedules and issues.
  • Comply with all customer safety requirements while on job sites.
  • Assist with yard operations and maintain cleanliness to mitigate hazards.
  • Provide training assistance to customers regarding safe equipment operations.
  • Document and report any damage to rental equipment identified during pickups.
  • Be responsive to customer needs, including occasional after-hours support.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and ensure timely maintenance.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to secure loads effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to foster customer relationships.
  • Positive attitude with the capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Quick learner with attention to detail and receptiveness to feedback.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of two years of experience driving vehicles requiring a Class A Commercial Driver's License preferred.
  2. Current Class A Commercial Driver's License issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
  3. Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with FMCSR regulations.
  4. Crane Certification from NCCCO preferred.
  5. Ability to obtain forklift certification as required.
