Position Overview
Trilon Group is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to become a vital member of our traffic division. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Transportation Engineer, your daily tasks will include:
  • Conducting comprehensive traffic analyses and generating detailed reports for projects nationwide.
  • Designing and preparing construction documents for traffic signals, signage, and roadway striping.
  • Implementing best practices and process enhancements to improve project outcomes.
  • Providing expert support to engineers and planners regarding intersection control methodologies.
  • Assisting the traffic group lead in business development initiatives.
  • Mentoring junior staff and contributing to the professional growth of the engineering team.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in traffic engineering within a consulting or public sector environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A valid Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or Traffic Engineer (TE) certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of active, non-motorized transportation systems.
  • Experience in preparing Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for roadway projects.
  • Proficiency in conducting traffic studies and analyses, along with report preparation.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to professional ethics.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as MS Excel, Word, MS Project, AutoCAD, or Microstation.
  • Proficiency in traffic analysis software such as Synchro, SimTraffic, VISTRO, or Sidra Intersection.

Preferred Skills
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification.
  • Experience managing projects with minimal oversight.
  • Experience in writing and presenting technical papers or expert presentations at industry events.
  • Active involvement in relevant professional associations and committees.
