About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dining Services Associate to join our team at Elderwood. As a key member of our food service team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our residents by providing exceptional meal service and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Assist in the preparation and delivery of meals to residents according to department policy and position assignment.
  • Resident Care: Adhere to the resident's diet order, texture/consistency modifications, and menu preferences during the preparation and service of food items and beverages.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Perform all responsibilities of the designated position assignment during the scheduled shift in accordance with all safety regulations and standards of practice.
  • Customer Service: May serve meals to residents in dining areas according to seating chart and instructions on resident tray tickets.
  • Team Collaboration: Regularly contribute to, and actively participate in, facility and department staff meetings and inservices.
  • Communication: May interact and communicate with residents/family members regarding meal service quality.
  • Timekeeping and Attendance: Utilize electronic timekeeping system as directed.
  • Reliability and Punctuality: Arrive to work on time, regularly, and work as scheduled.
  • Professionalism: Recognize and follow the dress code of the facility including wearing name tag at all times.
  • Electronic Device Policy: Follow policy and procedure regarding all electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.
  • Company Values: Support and abide by Elderwood's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Compliance: Abide by Elderwood's businesses code of conduct, compliance and HIPAA policies.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff or Administrator.
Requirements
  • Age: Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Employment Certificate/Permit: Employment Certificate/Permit required for applicable individuals
  • Customer Service Experience: Prior customer service experience
  • ServSafe Certification: ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain
  • Physical Stamina: Physical stamina necessary for constant activity
  • Education: HS diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food Service Experience: Prior food service, hospitality, serving, or restaurant experience desired
  • Language Skills: This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
