We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Highway Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the State of Colorado. As a key member of our maintenance operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our transportation infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks on highways, roads, and bridges, including plowing snow, repairing potholes, and installing guardrails.
- Operate heavy equipment, such as tandem dump trucks, loaders, and tractors, to maintain and repair infrastructure.
- Conduct inspections and assessments of infrastructure to identify areas of need and develop maintenance plans.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- At least two years of experience in heavy equipment operation and maintenance, or a related field.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes endorsement required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
