Immediate Job Openings – Baer Engineering & Environmental Consulting, Inc. is seeking dedicated Environmental Technicians in Austin who possess strong organizational, writing, and communication abilities. Applicants should hold degrees in a scientific discipline, with preferences for Industrial Hygiene, Health Science, Engineering, or Environmental Science.

Compensation ranges from 40-70k based on experience and qualifications. The initial benefits package includes paid dental, vision, health, and life insurance. This role is hybrid, requiring presence at job sites and/or offices in the Austin and San Antonio areas for fieldwork, meetings, training, and other responsibilities. Fieldwork is expected 1-5 days a week, and all costs for necessary training and licensing will be covered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field sampling for asbestos, lead, and mold across various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial locations.
  • Perform visual inspections and evaluations for potential environmental risks.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable environmental regulations and safety standards.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, project managers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Engage in training programs to remain informed on industry best practices and regulatory updates.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a scientific field is required. Preferred degrees include Industrial Hygiene, Health Science, Engineering, or Environmental Science.
  • Two to three years of experience in environmental testing or consulting is preferred.
  • Eligibility for certification and licensing in Asbestos, Lead, and Mold work is required.
  • Preferred certifications or licenses in Asbestos (Inspector, AMT/Project Monitor, Consultant), Lead (Inspector, Risk Assessor), or Mold (Assessment Consultant).

Skills and Special Requirements:

  • Ability to produce clear field notes for team reference.
  • Capability to write clear and concise reports for clients with varying levels of knowledge. Writing competency will be assessed during the interview process.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks with competing deadlines.
