Join Our Team – Baer Engineering & Environmental Consulting, Inc. is seeking dedicated Environmental Technicians who are passionate about environmental protection and sustainability. The ideal candidates will have strong organizational, writing, and communication abilities. A degree in a scientific discipline is required, with preferences for Industrial Hygiene, Health Science, Engineering, or Environmental Science.

Compensation ranges from $40,000 to $70,000 based on experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes dental, vision, health, and life insurance. This role offers a hybrid work environment, requiring presence at various job sites and offices for fieldwork, meetings, and training. Fieldwork is expected 1-5 days per week, and we cover all necessary training and licensing expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field sampling for hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, and mold across diverse settings including residential, commercial, and industrial locations.
  • Perform thorough visual inspections and assessments to identify potential environmental risks.
  • Compile detailed reports that summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable environmental regulations and safety protocols.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, project managers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Engage in ongoing training to remain informed about industry best practices and regulatory updates.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a scientific field is mandatory. Preferred degrees include Industrial Hygiene, Health Science, Engineering, or Environmental Science.
  • Two to three years of experience in environmental testing or consulting is advantageous.
  • Eligibility for certification and licensing in Asbestos, Lead, and Mold work is essential.
  • Preferred certifications or licenses include Asbestos (Inspector, AMT/Project Monitor, Consultant), Lead (Inspector, Risk Assessor), or Mold (Assessment Consultant).

Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to create clear and concise field notes for team reference.
  • Proficient in writing detailed reports for clients with varying levels of expertise; writing skills will be assessed during the interview.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and clients.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines efficiently.
