About the Role

Howard University is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team in the Department of Physics. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in the field of Physics, with a focus on simulation-based inference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement advanced computational techniques to analyze complex phenomena and make statistical inferences.
  • Collaborate with our team of researchers and students to advance scientific knowledge and understanding in the field of Physics.
  • Develop and implement likelihood-free inference methods, utilizing machine learning techniques and Bayesian principles.
  • Conduct primary and secondary data analyses, and participate in the development of manuscripts and presentations.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Physics, Astrophysics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience in likelihood-free inference, machine learning, or Bayesian statistics is desirable, but not required.
  • Demonstrated research experience in computational physics or related areas.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
