Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Physicist to join our team at Washington University in St. Louis. As a Health Physicist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe use of radiation in our research and clinical programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct radiation safety assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement radiation safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and education to users on radiation safety practices and procedures.
  • Investigate radiation incidents and accidents, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to ensure the safe use of radiation in our programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a radiation science or engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in radiation safety, with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a radiation science or engineering field.
  • Experience with radiation safety software and systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, such as NRC and Agreement State requirements.
