Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Department Supervisor to join our team at TJ Maxx. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team to provide an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Experience: Engage and interact with all customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and role-modeling exceptional customer service.
  • Merchandise Management: Create a positive internal and external customer experience, promote a culture of honesty and integrity, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Operations: Organize and prioritize truck delivery, train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles, and ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
  • Team Management: Monitor productivity of team, coach as necessary, and maintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates, and provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
  • Training and Development: Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness and promote credit and loyalty programs.
  • Safety and Security: Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment, and support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Requirements
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Able to train others and have 1 year retail and 6 months of leadership experience.
