Job Overview

The Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the Engineering department's daily operations, ensuring the comfort and safety of staff and guests. This key role involves supervising, training, and managing a team of engineers, as well as developing and implementing maintenance programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and monitor buildings, equipment, and grounds to determine maintenance and preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Develop work procedures and assign personnel to ensure optimal services and productivity.
  • Prepare and submit cost estimates for repairs and recommend feasible solutions.
  • Confer with relevant personnel on budgeting, long-range planning, and capital expenditures.
  • Maintain accurate records of work accomplished, operating statistics, R&M costs, utilities, and preventive maintenance.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced maintenance skills, familiarity with modern building controls, and experience in running an engineering department.
  • Computer skills, preferably with Microsoft Office, and hotel systems such as MICROS.
  • Journeyman-level expertise in tools and equipment usage.
  • Good English language understanding and communication skills.
  • Able to lift/transport at least 50 pounds, push/pull carts up to 250 pounds, and stand for extended periods.
