Job Summary

The ideal candidate will perform laboratory testing using multiple clinical laboratory instruments and laboratory developed tests. This position will support clinical and translational research for novel biomarker discovery and implementation of in vitro diagnostics spanning clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and molecular diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine assays according to laboratory standard operating procedures, including instrument maintenance and minor troubleshooting on various newly developed instruments.
  • Recognize problem situations and participate in problem solving; inform supervisor of unusual situations and request technical assistance.
  • Assist with validation of new assays; compile data for supervisory review; utilize electronic database, spreadsheet, and word processing programs.
  • Comply with all regulatory and client requirements for testing and documentation.
  • Demonstrate a general understanding of assay methods and clinical relevance; participate in relevant continuing education classes and seminars.
  • Assist supervisor with other duties and special projects including conducting independent research studies.
Working Conditions
  • Requires the use of personal protective equipment and lab equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in physical life science and clinical laboratory experience.
  • ASCP registry or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform tasks in an organized and systematic manner with great attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who can initiate job duties and assignments promptly.
  • Demonstrate ability to multitask and adapt quickly to new instruments and protocols.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate professionally and effectively with staff, management, and directors.
Required Qualifications

Associate degree (Medical Lab Technician or related scientific degree).
