Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Design and deliver approved technical training at recognized Training Centers and local districts for internal personnel as part of the GPL Business Strategy, aligned with employee development objectives.

OPERATIONS
  • Develop a comprehensive technical training curriculum at basic, intermediate, and advanced levels in collaboration with Product Line subject matter experts and the Segment Technical Development Manager, ensuring alignment with Product Line competency standards.
  • Deliver technical training curriculum professionally, assess student performance in detail, and provide comprehensive feedback to managers regarding their direct reports.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Development Manager to evaluate existing training curriculum for accuracy, relevance, consistency, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Conduct detailed training needs assessments to identify specific curriculum development requirements.
  • Support the Operations group in developing and fulfilling all necessary competency standards for personnel.
  • Manage Segment Asset resources to ensure adequate resourcing of training classes with necessary tools and equipment.
  • Contribute to achieving all Technical Training department goals and objectives.
  • Adhere to Technical Training department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Align training content with competency requirements.
  • Assist in WISE queries related to training or personnel development.
  • Support Global Product Lines initiatives and project deliverables.
COMMUNICATION
  • Develop a training class schedule in conjunction with the Segment Talent Manager and Technical Development Manager that meets business needs.
  • Provide training in virtual formats as well as at Training Centers and locations as determined by the Technical Development Manager.
  • Prepare and deliver technical seminars and workshops to personnel from National Oil Companies and International Oil Companies, either virtually or at client locations.
  • Maintain effective communication with all key stakeholders, both internal and, where appropriate, external.
FINANCIAL
  • Operate efficiently and cost-effectively within established budgets.
  • Understand and support measurements of return on investments.
  • All employees are accountable for financial responsibility, whether managing a function budget or their own expenses.
  • Ensure costs incurred are within approved budgets and processed within agreed time frames, following relevant financial policies and procedures.
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT

  • Engage regularly with line managers to discuss personal performance, objectives, and opportunities for skill enhancement.

Qualifications

Experience & Education

REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent qualification or a combination of education and experience.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Meets established criteria of Product Line Career Plans.
  • Thorough understanding of the overall business, with specific competency related to Product Lines applications and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Sand Control theories and concepts.
  • Operational experience in Sand Control (Stand Alone Screens, ICD, AICD, and Gravel Pack).
  • Workshop experience in servicing and maintaining Sand Control tools.
  • Prior experience in delivering Sand Control training is advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven ability to effectively train and mentor personnel in both classroom and field settings.
  • Knowledge of technical training program design and development techniques.

  • Able to work under pressure and in diverse conditions.
  • Willingness to travel globally 50-75% of the time.
