Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Access Representative to join our team at Mercy. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and will play a critical role in ensuring a positive and efficient experience for them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule Appointments: Facilitate the scheduling process for patients, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and accurate.
  • Registration and Verification: Verify patient information, obtain necessary signatures, and ensure that all required documentation is completed.
  • Pre-Certification and Financial Clearance: Obtain pre-authorization and financial clearance for patients, ensuring that all necessary requirements are met.
  • Pre-Visit Collection: Collect necessary information from patients prior to their visit, including demographic and insurance information.
  • Patient Data Management: Ensure that accurate and up-to-date patient data is maintained, including demographic and insurance information.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma required; 1-3 years of clerical experience and customer service experience preferred.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis; prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
