Patient Access Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Access Manager to join our team at Mercy. As a key member of our healthcare operations team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating department activities for our Patient Access areas.
Key Responsibilities- Department Management: Manage and coordinate department activities for Patient Access areas, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer service.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain current knowledge of regulatory agency requirements, including Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA, and EMTALA, to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
- Process Improvement: Lead process improvement initiatives and participate in benchmarking to ensure that assigned areas meet departmental goals and objectives.
- Team Leadership: Develop and implement new policies and procedures to improve workflow and effectiveness of the department, while cultivating a positive team approach.
- Communication: Act as a resource for internal and external customers, delivering exceptional service and maintaining effective communication channels.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous management experience required; experience with software and systems used in the department preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge: Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written; self-starter with ability to work independently; highly motivated and organized, requiring little direction; good investigative and problem-solving skills.
