Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating visual impairments and oculomotor disorders by conducting Orthoptic and diagnostic assessments. Responsibilities include educating patients on developing and utilizing binocular vision, guiding them through treatment processes, and managing the Orthoptic lanes within the pediatric ophthalmology department.

Qualifications Required

Applicants must have completed an accredited training program and hold certification from the American Orthoptic Council. We seek individuals who excel in teamwork, are adaptable to various locations, and can embody our core values in their work.

Preferred Qualifications

While three years of experience as an orthoptist is preferred, it is not mandatory. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) is highly advantageous.

Work Environment

Work arrangements may include hybrid or remote options, subject to departmental discretion. These agreements are reviewed annually and may change at any time.

This role is part of the bargaining unit represented by the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which advocates for members regarding wages, benefits, and working conditions.
