Position Overview

The Crisis Intervention Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering immediate assessment, intervention, and stabilization services for youth aged 0 to 17. This position is integral to fostering collaborative relationships with clients, families, healthcare providers, educators, and other essential stakeholders, employing a strengths-based and solution-focused approach to care.

Core Responsibilities

1. Conduct comprehensive screenings and evaluations, formulating diagnoses in line with established diagnostic criteria.
2. Develop and document individualized crisis and treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their families, ensuring they are clear, measurable, and tailored to specific needs.
3. Demonstrate expertise in crisis management, psychopathology, and various therapeutic modalities, while adhering to best practices and evidence-based models.
4. Provide mobile services in diverse community settings, including homes, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities, as dictated by program requirements.
5. Maintain effective communication with clients, families, and all relevant service providers, attending necessary meetings to ensure coordinated care.
6. Collaborate with emergency departments and other care providers to facilitate crisis planning and diversion strategies for high-need youth, aiming to minimize unnecessary admissions to intensive care settings.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Counseling, or a Doctoral degree in Psychology. A valid driver’s license is mandatory for community-based service delivery.

Licensure Requirements:
Must hold one of the following credentials: LMSW, LCSW, LMFTA, LMFT, LPCA, LPC, or be a licensed or license-eligible Psychologist in the relevant state.
