Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field sampling and testing to monitor industrial wastewater discharge and solid waste for compliance and hazards
  • Evaluate data and present findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Perform physical and photographic inspections to identify potential hazards
  • Provide customer service and respond to inquiries from stakeholders
  • Collect, compile, and calculate data to inform decision-making
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, physics, engineering, biology, or a related field
  • Valid California Class B or C driver's license
  • One year of experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with hazardous waste management and disposal
  • Knowledge of gas system and water quality monitoring
  • Bachelor's degree in math, engineering, or a scientific field
Working Conditions

This position may require the incumbent to work in confined spaces and use respiratory equipment. The individual must be able to pass an annual pulmonary function test.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of a written exam and an interview. Candidates must receive a qualifying score on each selection component to move forward in the process.
