Job Title: Recovery Specialist I

Telecare Corporation is seeking a skilled Recovery Specialist I to join our team at Sage House, a licensed 16-bed mental health rehabilitation center serving San Mateo County residents. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide care to meet the physical and psychological needs of clients through direct and indirect services.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to clients, including monitoring their behavior and condition, and assisting with daily living activities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in community meetings and groups, and facilitate therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Document client activities, responses to interventions, and significant behavior changes.
  • Admit and discharge patients, and complete associated documentation.
  • Collect and process client specimens, and obtain vital signs and weights as assigned.
  • Assist clients with mealtime, and provide client monitoring, including rounds, seclusion, and restraint supervision.
Requirements:
  • One year of experience working with nursing and/or psychiatric clients in a clinic, hospital, or long-term care facility.
  • Knowledge of basic psychiatric and nursing skills, including nursing interventions.
  • Certification as a CNA or its equivalent is acceptable documentation of nursing skills knowledge.
  • A High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • Good communication skills and a desire to work with severely mentally impaired adults is crucial.
  • Incumbents must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and be proficient in reading, speaking, and writing English.
  • Applicant must be finger printed, and receive clearance from the Department of Justice.
Working Conditions:

The Recovery Specialist I will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and will be required to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, crawl, twist, and reach frequently. The position will also involve lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects, and working with bio-hazards such as blood-borne pathogens, sewage, and hospital waste.
