Job Description:

The Electronics Assembly Technician will engage in a variety of tasks within a designated team, project, or operational area. Responsibilities will primarily involve non-routine and non-repetitive electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical assembly within a full-scale production environment. Key duties include quality assurance and reliability testing according to established protocols, production scheduling and management, as well as coordinating and expediting the flow of materials, components, and assemblies. The technician may also monitor and validate quality in line with statistical process controls or other methodologies. Successful candidates must complete all job-specific or specialized certification programs necessary for core responsibilities or specialized tasks. Additionally, there may be opportunities to mentor less experienced team members. Participation in team projects aimed at process improvement, quality enhancement, cost reduction, and scheduling efficiency is expected. The role involves electronic and mechanical assembly utilizing work instructions, MSE guidance, and technical specifications.

Essential Functions:
  • Proficient use of basic hand tools and fixtures.
  • Adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling chemicals and other hazards.
  • Capability to lift a minimum of 32 pounds.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and shop orders effectively.
  • Competence in following and delivering both written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including measurement ratios by weight and volume.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Skill in soldering and executing electronic and mechanical assembly tasks.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a 2-year post-secondary/Associate's Degree coupled with at least 2 years of related experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, utilizing hand tools, and performing assembly or repair tasks.
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Certification in J-STD-001 soldering and WHMA-A620A.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
