Job Description

At Walmart, we are seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager to lead our large-scale software development projects. As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for driving projects through the lifecycle phases to successful completion, developing and maintaining project schedules, and managing risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple complex projects or a large complex Care applications program by driving projects through the lifecycle phases to successful completion as defined in project's charter.
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule to track milestones, develop and execute plans for managing risk, and escalate project-related issues to management in accordance with project guidelines and requirements.
  • Manage project change control processes, coordinate production issue resolution, interpret data to help guide teams towards issue resolution and risk management, and make recommendations regarding solutions to problems or issues.
  • Present project status updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 9+ years of technical project or program management experience OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology with 7+ years of technical project or program management experience.
  • Experience with Agile methods including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Enterprise software engineering program management experience for full SDLC.
  • Experience using product backlog management tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Project for planning, execution, and release transparency.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts in business terms through MS Office tools including MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Champion product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the product area in support of corporate goals and objectives.
  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects spread across various domains and geographies.
  • Drive project implementation and deployment for large, complex, and ambiguous projects.
  • Proactive problem solver who operates effectively and independently, even in areas of uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • Team player with the courage to drive change through disruption while maintaining a respect for the team.
  • Strong collaboration skills and approach problems with positive intent while driving towards resolution.
  • Great attention to detail and exceptional follow through.
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrate proficiency in general business disciplines.
  • Perform successfully in a high-performing environment with tight deadlines and manage expectations.
  • Build relationships and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to document and communicate project commitments, progress status, issues, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Project Management.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related area and 3 years' experience in product design.
