POSITION OVERVIEW:
The SACC Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning and execution of the program curriculum, as well as providing leadership to staff at designated SACC sites. This role also includes serving as the Day Camp Director during the summer months and facilitating the Early Learning Readiness initiative. The primary goal is to ensure a high-quality experience and a secure environment for children and their families.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with availability needed between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the site director under the OCFS SACC license for assigned locations.
- Implement and uphold policies, regulations, and standards as mandated by the NYS Office of Child and Family Services, school administration, and YMCA Buffalo Niagara.
- Design and execute weekly lesson plans in alignment with YMCA program standards.
- Lead the Early Learning Readiness program at designated sites.
- Provide guidance and direction to staff while enforcing policies and procedures.
- Create and manage the staff schedule, covering for absences as necessary.
- Oversee children, program areas, and all activities to ensure safety and engagement.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of program areas, ensuring compliance with health protocols.
- Ensure a safe environment for all activities, enforce safety rules, and manage any incidents.
- Perform administrative tasks in accordance with YMCA procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Manage program supplies and equipment effectively.
- Respond to feedback from parents and implement strategies for program enhancement.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and school administration.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school administration, YMCA, and OCFS.
- Maintain all necessary certifications and participate in staff meetings and training.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Meet the licensing requirements for School Age Child Care Director as outlined by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services: an Associate degree in a child care or development-related field, or two years of college with 18 credit hours in a related field, along with two years of direct experience working with children under 13, including one year in a supervisory role.
- Able to lead engaging activities for elementary school-aged children, including group work and values education.
- Experience in program administration and staff supervision is essential.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are required, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Certification in CPR/AED (Adult, Child, Infant) and First Aid from recognized organizations is necessary; Responding to Emergencies certification is preferred.
- Must successfully complete the OCFS comprehensive background clearance requirements prior to commencing work.
