About the Role:

The Safety and Environmental Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing all site safety and health initiatives. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing safety and health programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and execute site safety, environmental, and health strategies, programs, and procedures.
  • Participate in safety and environmental audits and inspections, ensuring systems are updated and action plans are tracked.
  • Engage actively in shift meetings, safety committee discussions, and scheduled audits.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant safety regulations and their implications for the site.
  • Analyze safety conditions and behaviors, recommending improvements to enhance site safety performance.
  • Update and maintain site safety policies and programs to ensure compliance readiness.
  • Drive the implementation of best-in-class safety programs and provide training to ensure adherence to EHS measures.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with key safety vendors.
  • Provide expertise and coaching in EHS programs, particularly in areas such as Permit to Work and Machine Safety.
  • Lead by example to ensure excellence in EHS compliance and practices.
  • Support the development of operations line supervision to become effective EHS leaders.
  • Participate in LEAN initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in coordinating safety and health activities in a manufacturing setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety, environmental, and health systems and compliance.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in decision-making in both routine and emergency situations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills for policies and training materials.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with specialized EHS software is a plus.
