Church & Dwight is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Director to lead our plant production, quality, and maintenance teams. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality, low-cost finished product while driving efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Safety and Health: Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of employees by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures.
- Operations Leadership: Provide leadership, focus, and direction to the operations team, driving daily operations and making strategic decisions to achieve business objectives.
- Industrialization and Launches: Lead the industrialization and successful launches of new programs, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
- Production Meetings: Lead daily production meetings to discuss key performance indicators, address challenges, and align the team on goals and objectives.
- Efficiency and Productivity: Maximize efficiency through the design and implementation of improved manufacturing strategies, allocating assets and resources to meet quality, safety, cost, delivery, and volume and productivity goals.
- Department Budgets: Develop and maintain department budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial management.
- Lean and Problem-Solving: Help lead the implementation of Lean and problem-solving methodologies, driving continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Operating Plan: Develop and implement the operating plan to ensure production requirements are satisfied, aligning with business objectives and key performance indicators.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate limited resources effectively, prioritizing tasks and projects to maximize impact and achieve business goals.
- Training and Development: Ensure the long-term development and training of line technicians and support teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Organizational Flexibility: Create a flexible organization that can respond quickly to changes in product demand, ensuring agility and adaptability.
- Team Effectiveness: Provide leadership in team effectiveness, promoting open communication, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and corporate policies, laws, and regulations.
- Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics and Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or other related field.
- Experience: Minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Lean culture. Supervisory experience in a 24/5 or 24/7 environment is required.
- Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational/time management skills, ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization, ability to work under pressure, strong attention to detail, and ability to operate a computer with knowledge of Windows.
