Key Responsibilities


The Senior Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) will:

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in alignment with established standards.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health status through interviews and medical history reviews.
  • Identify patient and family needs, providing educational resources and support.
  • Offer psychosocial support to patients and their families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and ensure optimal patient care.
  • Manage medication refill requests and document relevant information accurately.
  • Coordinate consultations, diagnostic tests, and future appointments for patients.
  • Triag patient inquiries and document essential information in patient records.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist patients in accessing community resources.
  • Provide guidance and support to LPNs, LVNs, and medical assistants.
Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • A valid RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • A minimum of five years of nursing experience.
Working Conditions


This role involves working in an environment typical of an oncology/hematology clinic, with potential exposure to communicable diseases and other health risks associated with patient care.

Physical Requirements


The position requires a full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients, manual dexterity, and prolonged periods of standing and walking. The ability to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs is necessary, along with corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
