Key Responsibilities
The Senior Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) will:
- Develop, implement, coordinate, and assess patient care plans in accordance with established standards.
- Evaluate patient health status through thorough interviews regarding medical history.
- Identify patient and family needs, providing educational resources and support.
- Offer psychosocial assistance to patients and their families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and enhance patient care delivery.
- Manage medication refill requests and maintain accurate patient records.
- Coordinate consultations, diagnostic tests, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
- Prioritize patient phone inquiries and document relevant information.
- Enhance communication between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Assist patients in accessing community resources.
- Provide guidance to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree from an accredited nursing program, with a preference for a BSN.
- A valid RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- A minimum of five years of nursing experience.
Working Conditions
The work environment may expose the employee to various health risks common in an oncology/hematology clinic setting. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
Physical Requirements
This role requires a full range of motion, including the ability to lift and handle patients, as well as manual dexterity and coordination. The position may involve standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges are necessary.
