Key Responsibilities


The Senior Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) will:

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established standards.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status through interviews and medical history reviews.
  • Identify patient and family needs, providing education and instructional resources.
  • Offer psychosocial support to patients and their families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and ensure optimal patient care.
  • Manage medication refill requests and document pertinent information in patient records.
  • Coordinate consultations, diagnostic tests, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
  • Triag patient inquiries and document relevant details in medical records.
  • Enhance communication between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist patients in accessing community resources.
  • Provide guidance to LPNs/LVNs and medical assistants.

Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • A valid RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • A minimum of five years of nursing experience.

Working Conditions


This role may involve exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions typical of an oncology/hematology clinic environment.


Physical Requirements


The physical demands of this position include:

  • Full range of body motion, including lifting and handling patients.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
