Position Overview

The Fleet Project Controls Supervisor will oversee essential project control functions in collaboration with TXU Energy Executives and various project management teams. This role emphasizes the development of the fleet's Long Range Plan (LRP), the maintenance of project control tools and software, and the provision of site-specific project control assistance. A critical aspect of this position involves monitoring, managing, and reporting on project expenditures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, execution, and reporting of project financial performance metrics across the fleet, utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct comprehensive cost estimation and budgeting for projects, taking into account all financial elements such as materials, labor, equipment, and vendor services.
  • Annually review and update project budgets to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support the formulation of the yearly TXU Energy Long Range Plan (LRP).
  • Facilitate consistent practices and knowledge sharing to enhance project control activities.
  • Assess industry project control tools for potential improvements and implement lessons learned.
  • Prioritize project control initiatives to align with business objectives and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Ensure financial targets are met for each project site on a monthly basis.
  • Develop and manage processes related to project scheduling, cost management, and risk assessment across the fleet's project portfolio.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of comprehensive project plans, ensuring they meet site and stakeholder requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with projects, implementing proactive strategies to address potential challenges.

Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Technical proficiency in analytical and mathematical skills for accurate budget assessments.
  • In-depth knowledge of project control processes and industry standards.
  • General understanding of operational practices within the energy sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with project teams.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Construction Management preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years in finance, construction, or project management roles, with a focus on project controls.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing project control functions, including budgeting and scheduling.
