We are seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team at Emergency Medical Services Authority. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet of vehicles and equipment.

**Key Responsibilities**
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on company vehicles, ambulances, heavy equipment, trailers, and other motor vehicles, adhering to manufacturer or industry standards.
  • Accurately diagnose and repair or replace parts and systems necessary for proper vehicle or equipment functioning, including brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
  • Conduct necessary testing and diagnostic assessments on parts, systems, and vehicles to ensure proper functioning.
  • Perform routine assessments on critical parts and systems as established in departmental standards and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure maintenance and repair schedules support operational needs and resource deployment plans.
  • Deploy to unit/vehicle locations to mitigate unit downtime.
  • Properly test drive vehicles to confirm safe and proper operation.
  • Accurately maintain vehicle repair and maintenance records.
  • Conduct self in an ethical, professional manner, projecting a positive self/company/system image.
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety standards and organizational policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field required.
  • Industry certifications.
  • Two years of related experience with diesel engine diagnosis and repair preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle diagnostics and repair.
  • Excellent mechanical repair skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals.
  • Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Work independently with little supervision to meet departmental goals.
**Working Conditions**

This position requires occasional time at a stationary desk, frequent repeating motions, and sufficient physical ability to work in a mechanic shop environment. Walking, standing, and sitting for prolonged periods, with frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting, and/or carrying moderate to heavy amounts of weight.

The position works in a temperature-controlled environment with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, grease, or oil, and minimal poor ventilation or air circulation.

The noise level is frequently quiet with exposure to moving mechanical parts/machines.
