Job Summary

The Section of Clinical Sciences in the Division of Rheumatology, Inflammation and Immunity at Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a skilled Programmer/Analyst 1 to collaborate with Principal Investigators, biostatisticians, and other programmers to provide programming support for various clinical and epidemiological research projects and the BWH VERITY Bioinformatics Core.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and update datasets for multiple research projects.
  • Document data management procedures, including data structure and cleaning processes, and study analyses performed.
  • Perform statistical analyses using R, adapting existing scripts as needed.
  • Validate data using R or other statistical programs, testing statistical programs and algorithms authored by others.
  • Assist researchers in preparing tables and figures for reports, papers, grants, and presentations.
  • Communicate with investigators to meet their requests in a timely manner, assisting in project planning and attending team meetings.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, attending larger study and staff meetings.
  • Assist in programming analysis of novel methods using EHR data.
  • Document data management procedures and study analyses performed.
Requirements
  • Experience using R/R Markdown for data management, analysis, and visualization is essential.
  • Experience with other programming languages or statistical software is preferred, with some experience with SQL also preferred.
  • Experience working in Excel and familiarity with ACCESS.
  • A Master's degree in biostatistics or a related field is required.
