About the Role

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative I to join our Registration and Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient access to our medical center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all admissions activities for pre-admit and face-to-face registration of patients presenting to the Main Admissions and/or outpatient areas for treatment.
  • Facilitate patient access to Cedars Sinai Medical Center and secure all demographic and financial patient registration information.
  • Verify insurance coverage, Third Party Liability (TPL) screening, Medi-Cal / Medicare eligibility, and Workers Compensation eligibility.
  • Secure cash deposits (co-pays, deductibles, cash packages) and explain information to patients.
  • Interact with patients and families with sensitivity and attention to their needs.
Requirements
  • High School or GED required.
  • 2 years college preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • 2 years of experience in healthcare, insurance, or related experience preferred.
  • Previous work experience in an inpatient or outpatient admissions setting or physician's office preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in patient accounting or with an insurance payor preferred.
  • Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
  • PC literacy: Basic core computer skills and navigation skills required.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Scheduling flexibility and timeliness, including evening and weekend commitments.
