OB/GYN Registered Nurse Coordinator

As an OB/GYN Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in enhancing patient care and optimizing health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Outpatient Operations and Practice Operations Manager to oversee the clinical activities of Medical Assistants, ensuring adherence to competencies and clinical duties.
- Monitor, document, and report on patient conditions, reactions to medications, and treatment outcomes while maintaining accurate patient laboratory records.
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures, including recording patient histories, vital signs, venipuncture, injections, and specimen collection/preparation.
- Manage the inventory and ordering of medical equipment, surgical instruments, and supplies.
- Triage patient calls and provide guidance to appropriate healthcare providers as necessary.
- Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of the laboratory and pathology tracking systems.
- Maintain meticulous records of all specimens collected and sent for analysis.
- Oversee weekly schedules and coverage for Medical Assistants.
- Conduct routine maintenance of medical equipment and emergency supplies.
- Ensure accurate logging and accountability of all medications and injections administered.
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications in compliance with established standards.
- Track and address risk management incidents, medication errors, and other patient safety concerns.
- Assist physicians with patient treatments, procedures, and department-specific therapies.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives and staff training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of four years in a related field.
- Current Registered Nurse License in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of outpatient OB/GYN clinical experience.
- Two years of supervisory experience in a related setting.
Certifications:
- BCLS
- ACLS
