Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the Director of Outpatient Operations and Practice Operations Manager to oversee Medical Assistants, ensuring all clinical competencies are met.
2. Accurately observe, document, and report on patient conditions, including reactions to medications and treatments.
3. Assist physicians during clinical procedures, taking patient histories and vital signs, performing venipuncture, administering injections, and preparing specimens.
4. Manage the inventory and ordering of medical equipment and supplies.
5. Triage patient calls and direct them to the appropriate healthcare professionals as needed.
6. Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of the laboratory and pathology tracking systems.
7. Keep meticulous records of all specimens collected and sent for analysis.
8. Organize weekly schedules for Medical Assistants and ensure coverage.
9. Conduct routine maintenance checks on medical equipment and emergency supplies.
10. Ensure all medications and injections are properly logged and accounted for.
11. Administer prescribed medications in accordance with established protocols.
12. Monitor and report incidents related to risk management, medication errors, and patient safety.
13. Assist physicians with patient treatments and specific departmental therapies.
14. Engage in performance improvement initiatives and staff training.
15. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
- Current Registered Nurse License in New York State.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of outpatient OB/GYN clinical experience.
- Two years of supervisory experience in a related field.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
