OB/GYN Nursing Coordinator

Position Overview:
We are looking for dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses to fill the role of OB/GYN Nursing Coordinator. In this position, you will play a vital role in enhancing patient care and outcomes within a reputable healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Outpatient Operations and Practice Operations Manager to oversee the clinical activities of Medical Assistants, ensuring adherence to established competencies and clinical protocols.
- Monitor and document patient conditions, reactions to treatments, and laboratory results, maintaining accurate patient records.
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures, including taking patient histories, vital signs, and performing venipuncture and injections.
- Manage the inventory and ordering of medical supplies and surgical instruments.
- Handle triage calls and provide guidance to appropriate healthcare professionals as needed.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the laboratory and pathology tracking systems.
- Maintain meticulous records of specimens collected and dispatched for testing.
- Oversee weekly schedules and coverage for Medical Assistants.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on medical equipment and emergency supplies.
- Ensure proper documentation of medications and injections administered.
- Administer prescribed medications in compliance with established standards.
- Track incidents related to risk management, medication errors, and patient safety concerns.
- Support physicians in patient treatments and specialized departmental therapies.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives and educational activities for staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, along with four years of relevant experience.
- Current Registered Nurse License in New York State.
- BCLS certification.
- Two years of outpatient OB/GYN clinical experience.
- Two years of supervisory experience in a related field.
- ACLS certification.
