Position PurposeThis role performs clinical diagnostic Nuclear Medicine testing, interacting with the Cardiology Department for Nuclear Cardiology testing.
Responsibilities include performing required testing in accordance with state and Federal regulations.
Essential Functions- Performs all Nuclear Medicine studies utilizing specialized equipment.
- Administers appropriate isotope dosage for the examination, following established guidelines.
- Follows appropriate radiation safety guidelines, ensuring other staff members and patients are secluded in safe areas.
- Maintains radioactive controls of incoming shipments, monitors, and logs all shipments.
- Disposes decaying materials in an appropriate fashion.
- Gives annual radiation safety classes to other ancillary services as required by the IEMA and FDA.
- Uses computer software programs to analyze various Nuclear Medicine studies, demonstrating such images on film for radiologist interpretation.
- Reviews annual department policy & procedure, safety, OSHA, and follows AIDET principles.
This role performs both essential and marginal job functions safely as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital's confidentiality norms and standards.

Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Participates in performance activities, including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation, and evaluation.
Assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.
Participates in staff meetings and other inservices, meetings, or committees as required.
Interacts with the Department of Cardiology in the scheduling and processing of Nuclear Cardiology procedures.
