Job Summary:

Nuclear Medicine Technologist needed to perform diagnostic imaging procedures through the administration of radioactive isotopes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industry standards, IEMA Standards, and department protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures through the administration of radioactive isotopes.
  • Assess and evaluate physician's orders for a Nuclear Medicine examination according to departmental protocol.
  • Evaluate patient requests for procedures and assess patients to determine the appropriate protocol and method of application.
  • Position patients and perform diagnostic imaging procedures utilizing Nuclear Medicine gamma cameras.
  • Care for patients throughout procedures according to department and hospital standards of nursing care, age-specific standards, and 'Patients' First' guidelines.
  • Participate in lifting and transporting patients to and from imaging devices.
  • Act as physician assistant during sterile procedures such as aspirations, drainages, and biopsies associated with Nuclear Medicine guided procedures.
  • Notify physicians as required of changes in physical condition of patients or unique imaging characteristics.
  • Responsible for completion and maintenance of medical records consisting of films and associated paperwork for processing.

Requirements:

  • ARRT or NMTCB accreditation.
  • IEMA-Division of Nuclear Safety licensed and accredited.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Training Program.
  • CEUs consistent to remain licensed and accredited by aforementioned bodies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of Siemens e.soft work environment.
