Nuclear Medicine Technologist

At the University of Illinois Chicago, we are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Imaging and Diagnostic Services team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing diagnostic in-vivo/in-vitro studies using radioactive materials and radiation detection equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform standard diagnostic procedures on patients, including PET/CT and CT scans.
- Explain procedures to patients and record patient data, ensuring patient privacy.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals or contrast media, adhering to safety standards.
- Perform quality control checks on lab equipment and maintain accurate records of tests conducted.
- Dispose of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals according to radiation safety procedures.
- Effectively utilize information systems containing patient information in Rad Net and Power Chart, as well as Image Archiving System.
- Complete training on in-services, including Net Learning, as related to individual work activities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current/Valid licensure in nuclear medicine by the State of Illinois Division of Nuclear Safety (IEMA).
- Current/Valid Certification or registration by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1st shift Monday-Friday.
- ARRT or NMTCB and BLS certifications.
- Excellent Attendance, interpersonal skills, and work history included on application.
