Job Summary

Rady Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled Developmental Specialist I or II to provide clinical services to children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child development and be able to work effectively with patients, parents, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services, including screening, assessment, treatment planning, and intervention support, to children under general supervision.
  • Respond differentially to children based on their age, developmental level, abilities, and cultural considerations.
  • Serve as a liaison with community referral sources, including physicians' offices and other treatment professionals, to facilitate clinical and treatment options.
  • Provide educational information to patients, parents, and families regarding their child's developmental needs.
  • Enter service documentation into the computer database.
Requirements
  • Developmental Specialist I: Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline, 6 months of experience in the field, BLS for Healthcare Providers, and computer skills sufficient to perform data entry and electronic charting.
  • Developmental Specialist II: Master's Degree in a related discipline, 2 years of experience, valid CA driver's license, and demonstrated competency in varied treatment modalities for children with special needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional education beyond undergraduate degree related to area of specialty.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
Compensation

The expected hiring range for this position is $25.47 to $35.03 for Developmental Specialist I and $28.09 to $38.62 for Developmental Specialist II. Rady Children's Hospital is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
