Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electromechanical Engineer Liaison to join our team at HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division. As a key member of our A1B Propulsion Plant Planning Yard (PPPY) Reactor Department Liaison (RDL) group, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between planning yards and waterfront, Navy Type Commander, Naval Reactors, Naval Nuclear Labs, and government shipyards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles to assist key stakeholders in the maintenance, operation, and modifications for Ford Class Propulsion Plants.
  • Support and participate in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify workload drivers and assist in Ship's Force design change recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of naval nuclear plant principles of operation, maintenance, and support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of naval nuclear plant principles of operation, maintenance, and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A1B propulsion plant senior watch standing qualification experience.
  • Navy senior leadership experience E7 or above.
  • Familiarity with Newport News Shipbuilding New Construction policies, operations, and waterfront representatives.
