About the role of Neurodiagnostic Specialist II

Position Overview

The primary objective of this position is to collect diagnostic information from designated neurological assessments for physician evaluation and to extract relevant data from patient records and family members that will aid the physician in interpreting the acquired information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality neurodiagnostic evaluations efficiently and economically. This may encompass various types of electroencephalographic assessments (routine, inpatient, outpatient, portable, extended (with or without video)).
  • Gather essential patient history from the patient, parent, caregiver, or medical records.
Apply electrodes (probes) in correct locations, verify the integrity of the application, and calibrate as required.
  • Document EEG data using standard montages for adult, pediatric, or neonatal patients as appropriate. Adjust montages as necessary based on patient diagnosis or physician directives.
  • Identify artifacts and troubleshoot to eliminate them. Record any changes in patient condition or events during EEG data collection. Also, highlight any potential abnormalities.
  • Utilize activation procedures as suitable for each patient.
  • Engage in departmental initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction (AIDET, service recovery, new initiatives).
  • Contribute to company initiatives as appropriate.
  • Process patient charges in the designated system.
  • Maintain daily records/logs of departmental activities.
  • Prepare documentation for physicians.
  • Ensure that a proper procedure report is completed and included in the patient record.
  • Ensure reports are sent to referring physicians.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies within the department.
  • Store supplies appropriately within the department.
  • Notify the manager/supervisor of any special departmental requirements.
  • Keep the work area, department, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and report any safety concerns to the manager/supervisor.
  • Complete online safety event reports as necessary.
  • Maintain equipment in optimal working condition.
  • Contact Bio-Med or Building Operations as needed.
  • Stay informed about all departmental equipment.
  • Complete all mandatory educational requirements.
  • Participate in at least 70% of team meetings.
  • Review current literature to stay updated with advancements in the EEG technology field.
  • Engage in departmental or hospital-wide projects and activities as assigned.
  • Focus on Patient Satisfaction.
  • Ensure accurate Departmental Documentation.
  • Maintain the EEG lab and supplies.
  • Oversee Equipment maintenance.
  • Participate in Professional and Personal Growth Activities.
Education/Experience Required
  • High school diploma with 1-2 years of formal EEG training or experience. Eligible to take the EEG board examination.
Salary Range
  • $26 - $39 per hour.
Work Schedule
  • 11 PM - 7:30 AM.
