Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we are at the forefront of designing, constructing, and operating advanced aircraft and innovative technologies. We are currently seeking a skilled and driven Aerospace Manufacturing Project Leader to contribute to the evolution of aviation.

Key Responsibilities

The Aerospace Manufacturing Project Leader will function within the Manufacturing Sector as a vital member of the cross-functional New Programs and Manufacturing Technology Team. The primary role is to guarantee the success of programs and projects through effective team leadership, resource allocation, scheduling, risk assessment, and technical supervision.

This position requires close collaboration with Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Technicians, and Operations Management.

Essential Duties Include:
  • Overseeing aerospace composite fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Leading prototype and production quotation and proposal initiatives.
  • Creating and managing integrated master schedules for prototype and production programs.
  • Planning, scheduling, and prioritizing tasks to meet established deadlines.
  • Tracking and ensuring timely completion of all manufacturing action items related to assigned programs.
  • Developing efficient processes and product flows for part manufacturing that align with program schedules and budget constraints while adhering to aerospace quality standards.
  • Serving as the primary contact for customers regarding all manufacturing-related inquiries.
  • Coordinating customer interactions, including program kick-offs, status updates, and technical discussions.
  • Monitoring production performance metrics and conducting analyses.
  • Providing support to production staff on the shop floor as necessary.
  • Recommending strategies for optimizing the use of personnel, materials, and utilities.
  • Performing limited manufacturing engineering tasks on prototype and development projects based on expertise and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and experience acquired through advanced technical education in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) along with 2 or more years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Master’s degree). ABET accreditation is preferred in the USA but not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a manufacturing setting, particularly within the aerospace or composite manufacturing sectors.

Demonstrated experience in manufacturing program management and leadership.

Proficiency in utilizing software tools to support manufacturing engineering, including Microsoft Office Suite and CAD/CAM software.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and adhere to safety regulations.

Willingness to travel to various domestic sites as required.
