MedConnect is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Specialist to join our medical team. As a key member of our orthopedic department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider to work collaboratively with our clinical teams in managing orthopedic patients in the outpatient clinic and operative environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in orthopedic surgery, including first assist in the OR, and will be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams to manage orthopedic patients in the outpatient clinic and operative environments.
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical exams, interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic procedures, and formulation of treatment plans.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including joint and bursa aspiration, injections, and brace, splint, and cast applications.
  • Order and collect appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures and studies as needed.
  • Collaborate with physician colleagues to develop and implement treatment plans.
Requirements
  • Orthopedic experience required.
  • 1-2 years of recent and relevant experience in orthopedic surgery (outpatient visits, first assist in the OR and inpatient rounding) is preferred.
  • Ability to do independent physical exams, interpret X-rays, offer fracture care, perform office procedures, and act as first assist in OR is required.
  • Must have ability to integrate well with medical community to help promote referrals.
  • Must have a current Nebraska Physician Assistant license and must have completed an AMA-approved Physician Assistant Program.
  • Must have a current Nebraska APRN license permitting practice as a family nurse practitioner, and maintain all requirements to this license.
  • Must be certified in BLS. Certification in ACLS and/or PALS is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be credentialed for hospital privileges and must satisfy employment requirements at MedConnect.
