We're seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Small Animal Emergency Medicine Intern to join our team at Willamette Veterinary Hospital (WVH). As a leading provider of emergency veterinary care, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and a supportive learning environment.



As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced emergency doctors and staff, gaining hands-on experience in medical and surgical cases. Our comprehensive in-house diagnostic capabilities, including radiographs, CT, ultrasound, and blood work, will provide you with a rich learning environment.



About the Internship

Our one-year ER-focused internship is designed to help new graduates build confidence and skills in emergency medicine. You'll learn to be a proficient receiving ER DVM, managing ICU inpatient cases, and develop strong diagnostic and treatment plans.



Responsibilities


  • Provide direct case management under close supervision from experienced practitioners
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, working closely with our experienced team
  • Participate in weekly teaching rounds and monthly doctor team meetings
  • Collaborate with our team to deliver exceptional patient care and a supportive learning environment


Requirements


  • DVM or equivalent from an accredited veterinary institution
  • Oregon veterinary license and DEA license
  • Prior internship, site visit, or equivalent experience at Willamette Veterinary Hospital (WVH) is required for full consideration
