We use Cornerstone for our electronic medical records.

Internship Details
The internship is designed to build confidence and skills in surgery, medicine, ICU management, and emergency care. You will work under the mentorship of experienced emergency doctors and staff, providing direct case management while under close supervision. You will learn how to be competent and confident emergency clinicians via hands-on experience with medical and surgical cases. We emphasize development of skills in patient assessment, building diagnostic and treatment plans, as well as effective communication with clients, patients, staff, and colleagues.

Qualifications
To be eligible, you must have a DVM or equivalent from an accredited veterinary institution, an Oregon veterinary license, and a DEA license. Prior internship, site visit, prior employment, or other equivalent experience at Willamette is required for full consideration. We are looking for candidates with an ER-focused mindset and proactive attitude who are interested in staying in the SA ER field. Those interested in staying locally in Oregon will be considered for a full-time ER position upon successful completion of the internship.

Benefits
We offer a competitive annual base salary, monthly production bonus with no negative accrual, license membership dues, liability insurance, company-paid wellness programs and support, paid continuing education, dedicated days off to attend, 401k with employer match, comprehensive leadership training program, structured mentorship program, uniform allowance, and the power of the network to use in the clinic and to grow your interests. We value a work-life balance and believe in fostering an environment where you can practice top-tier medicine and have the energy to enjoy life outside of work.

Program Structure
The internship is a 12-month program that meets the Oregon State Veterinary Medical Board Intern Permit requirements. You will work 3 shifts per week, with weekly intern topic rounds and monthly DVM meetings. Learning is focused on becoming a proficient receiving ER DVM as well as managing ICU inpatient cases. 20-30% of the internship will include nights. We have a busy and diverse caseload of both hospitalized and outpatient cases, with the capability for 24/7 hospitalization. We have comprehensive in-house diagnostic capabilities, including radiographs, CT, ultrasound, and blood work, as well as a surgical OR, endoscopy, and isolation facilities. We emphasize development of skills in patient assessment, building diagnostic and treatment plans, as well as effective communication with clients, patients, staff, and colleagues.
